Lyssa Adkins: What happens when an Agile team plateaus?

Yvette Francino Yvette Francino Profile: Yvette Francino

Many people have trouble with Agile transition and all the changes that can occur. Others have mastered the transition, seen improvements, but then hit a plateau, or even what might be seen as a “death spiral.”

Lyssa Adkins, author of Coaching Agile Teams: A Companion for Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, and Project Managers in Transition, helps coaches learn how to dig through the “dirt” that Agile can uncover and discover ways to diagnose what’s going on. This takes significant skills that Adkins teaches with her partner Michael Spayd at the Agile Coaching Institute. She says, “We’re having a good time helping people get over the plateau and take the death spiral to an orbit.”

Adkins and Spayd led a half-day tutorial at Agile Development Practices West titled, “Starting Up Great Agile Teams—or Resetting Existing Ones.”
