|Roger “Buzz” King is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has a B.A. in Mathematics from Occidental College and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.He teaches Information Systems and 3D Animation.
He studies cutting edge technology that is being used to build highly media-rich desktop/Web applications and the Semantic Web. These include object-relational databases, XML Schema and XQuery, and web development frameworks designed to build highly responsive web applications, like Adobe Flex and Microsoft WPF/Silverlight.
He also studies applications for managing and manipulating audio, video, images, text, and animation.
His research has been supported by DARPA, NSF, the Smithsonian, ONR, the US Navy, the DOE, the US Army, Martin Marrietta, IBM, AT&T, and U S WEST. Roger has developed software for the insurance industry. He has consulted for major software vendors, the FBI, and corporations with large data management facilities. He has served as an expert witness in both civil and criminal cases.
