The key focus on the two days Smart Tech 2019 event organized by Smart Mobility Association was on the Present and Future of Vehicle Tracking Technology. Most of the talks and panel discussions revolved around the various aspect of the topic. This was a 2-day industry symposium and hence there was a high level of industry level present at the event not only from the government sector but also from public and private sectors. It emerges that modern-day automotive can’t survive without Technology, Telecom, and mobility sectors. Only then it can evolve as smart automotive. The event was presented by iTriangle Infotech which is India’s largest manufacturer of vehicle telematics devices. The symposium on Vehicle Tracking Technology was very much the need of the hour in order to collaborate and synchronize all industry leaders in this ecosystem. The Smart Mobility Association was quite successful in its initiative.

If you try to find out the various developments taking place in vehicle tracking technology spectrum across the globe, the situation is very dynamic. In a way, what is happening today is like setting a proper foundation for the future of navigation, connectivity, telecom, technology, and smart transport. All these further lead to smart cities and smart nation. There is a lot of thrust in the country on digitization. Almost Rs. 2 trillion spends are in pipeline for the development of smart cities in India. A lot of focus is thus towards the basic things to be in the place like road construction, traffic management, fleet tracking, etc. A large chunk of public transport is in the process of installation of VT Technology. Smart Tech 2019 is one of its kind event in this regard covering it with 360 degrees perspective including promises, perspectives, challenges, scope, and risks.

There were more than 250 delegates from various industry segments like Automotive, Telecom, IT, Mobility, etc, in the recently concluded Smart Tech 2019 with a key focus on Vehicle Tracking System. The participation included Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of The Government of India, Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT), Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) Limited, and a number of big names in the industry. Rajiv Arora, General Secretary, Smart Mobility Association, says, “The economic scenario of today demands increased productivity while driving down costs, and many businesses are now looking for innovative ways to refine their processes. We are hopeful that this forum shall offer a cross-industry perspective towards this direction, and put forth best practices of vehicle tracking technology in India as well as across the globe,”

Dinesh Tyagi, Director, ICAT said, “Off late, a dire need has been felt to have platforms where discussions can be initiated about new age smart devices and technologies. I am sure Smart Tech 2019 will address this issue and provide a comprehensive knowledge platform for all the industry experts and professionals alike.”
