Q: Yes, you mentioned that the solution can save as much as 75 percent in costs—how does it achieve these cost savings for customers? What is the pricing model?

LC: Cloud-to-cloud solutions require ongoing costs for cold-storing your data in the cloud or a C2C location where costs can scale very quickly. The local storage capability of BackupAssist 365 eliminates this need, so that’s where it can save up to 75 percent over cloud-to-cloud. We use yearly subscription licensing based on the number of unique user accounts or email addresses—so the more users subscribed, the larger the discount. Our pay-per-user-account pricing model begins at $1.00 per user per month for up to 24 users. Volume subscription pricing is also available. So if you have 25 to 49 users, the rate is 95 cents per month per user, and for 50 or more users, the price drops to 90 cents per month per user. So you can see that the solution puts the control back in the customer’s hands financially, as well as practically, through use of on-premise backups. Really, BackupAssist 365 gives SMBs the best of both worlds: the benefits and convenience of cloud storage for primary operations, plus gaining control of their data through local backups rather than being at the mercy of a third-party cloud vendor.
