How can I open XLR files in Office for Macs?

Answer Wiki

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

According to this site FILEINFO.COM you can use Excel in Office 2016 for Mac. IF you are trying to use another application let us know what it is.

If you have that and still cannot open the file, let us know any error messages you may be getting. It may be the file is damaged and you might need to do a repair on the file.

First of all clear your concepts. Some version of Excel can open .XLR files, but it may only be possible that were created in Works version 8 & later. However, Open Office (CALC) can open this type of files. You can try here: https://www.openoffice.org/porting/mac/

One more thing, take a backup of the file(s) & keep in a safe place like other drive/flash drive. Now just change the extension that is, renaming the extension from .xlr to .xls & then try to open in Excel directly. Check if that helps. Keep in mind, make a duplicate copy of the same file(s).
