Workstation security

I read about limiting user rights by making them "users" instead of "administrators". When I have tried this my SUS stops functioning and noone receives MS updates. I wound up returning everyone to an administrator status. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

User accounts do not have permission to edit the registry this is why SUS will not run under a user account …however you can set up SUS to run under the Administrator account from the user account. “Run this program as….” and select “always run this program as….”
Your updates will be able to run.

If you are running on a server then the server can push the updates to the workstation using admin permission all of which is transparent to the user.
