I am using a Samsung N210 with 2GB of memory in it and Windows 7 Starter. When I use the wireless connection the "Connection Status" shows as 72Mbps, which is to be expected considering I am only a few feet from the router. However, the speed is nothing like that in reality. I tested the actual transfer speeds for the wired and wireless connections by copying a 238MB folder with 77 photos in it. I copied it from the NAS device, where I store all my files, to the local disk of the netbook. Here are the results:
Marvell Yukon 88E8040 Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller
25s => 76Mbps
Realtek RTL8192E Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC
660s => 3Mbps
What can I do about this?
I would be very grateful of any suggestions.
Thank you
