Encrypting the data on SAMSUNG Galaxy J7 Prime could be done in a few steps: go to Settings, then Security, choose Encrypt Device and Set Screen Lock type. Make sure that your device is fully charged or is currently charging as this processon Galaxy J7 Prime could take a long time {even up to one hour).

Have you read its manual? There must be a procedure that instructs how to encrypt your device. This is here, http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201507/20150714233314932/SM-J700_UM_MEA_Lollipop_Eng_Rev.1.0_150713.pdf

Here's a link on how to encrypt Android phones and tablet that's pretty good and if you want something more specific for your device you can try this one It's a Youtube video.

Unless you think some nation-state is seriously following your activities, it's highly unlikely that you need to do anything but delete things. Seriously, practically no one is interested.

But you might just delete things, then load it up with long videos. By over-writing memory, even 'deleted' items get covered.

I agree with Raven, unless you are using your phone for illegal activities there should be no need to encrypt it.  If that is the case buy a pre-paid burner phone with cash.

Moreover, of your phone under warranty, be cautious if the procedure/ app asks for rooting. This may void your warranty.
