Windows recovery: Select the driver file (extension *.inf)

Windows recovery is asking be to install a driver in a new hard drive to recover my files to. It says," Select the driver file (extension *.inf), and then click the OK button.". At the top there is a pull down menu with several drives and partition. I recognize one as being the computer I am trying to recover. There is an INF folder under the Windows folder but, I don't see any inf extensions. Clicking on the root of any drive or folder does nothing. Where do I find what they are looking for?

What Windows recovery is there? Is it a Windows backup? Generally, .inf is a setup information file. Sometimes, if one does not have setup fil (setup.exe etc.) then it may possible to locate the .inf file (that is related to this installation) and install the same. Whatever you are trying to recover, it must be with the same setup information file.
