I am trying to restore a factory image on a Windows 8 machine for a friend. The OS will not boot at all, and I am using a USB system repair drive. It cannot find the recovery image through the GUI, but I have located it through the command prompt, and attempted to restore it using DISM. (DISM /apply-image /imagefile:f:*******.wim /index:1 /applydir:c:) It appears to restore the image, but upon reboot, I get a black screen with the error [Interactive Sign-In Process Initialization has failed]. It will not proceed past this point. What else can I do to restore the image?
