I'm still running Windows 7 (and yes, I plan on upgrading very soon) but I have a daily task that's supposed to run 15 minutes after a scheduled start is missed. But it's not doing that. Sometimes, it runs an hour after the missed scheduled start. The time has been varying a lot. Why is this happening?

Is this task run once daily or multiple times a day? Are there any conflicting jobs running concurrently? Are the files needed for the task lock by another application? More info is needed on what the job does, where and how it is run.

How does it run, either by a batch file/or through service program/put on a startup? That is necessary to know to get good replies. You have to check all the settings to related of that particular service. Some kinds of anti-virus settings may cause for the same.
