I haven’t a windows 7 machine at hand now, but, isn’t possible to do it by changing the registry key as in previous versions ?

    Unfortunately, I have tried the normal methods. The copy of Win 7 I'm using is an evaluation copy. The firewall or "rules" is/are quite different from Vista or previous versions. Although the registery key changes I am unable to change the firewall rule.

    Are you using the beta or the RC of win 7 ?

    It's the RC version. The problem may be my lack of understanding of how the "rules" section works - but it makes little difference; I am unable to change the port. I circumvented the problem by changing the listeners for my other machines. (A virtual environment with 4 machines.)
