I'm sorry - I'm a computer newbie. I'm still on a Windows 7 computer and I have a basic question. How can I find out if my computer is running a 32-bit or a 64-bit? Thanks so much.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Type control panel into the search box or click on my computer / This pc on the desktop (depends on what version of Windows you have) . There you will find system. Click on system and it will list your system is including whether it’s  32 or 64 bit.

You can probably type system and click on it. This provides a little more info but might be harder for some to understand this method lists a 64 bit system as x64.

Right click on Computer icon on your desktop. Select Properties. Observe the system section and it is clearly shown under system type either it is 32 bit Or 64 bit. If the icon does not appear on the desktop, then you have to bring back the icon from Personalize. Right click anywhere on desktop and select personalize. Next select change desktop icons and select computer then click OK.
