So I recently got an Asus laptop for gaming purposes and just installed the latest version of Windows 10. Now, even when I'm not gaming at all, I'm seeing huge GPU spikes in my system process (all coming from the GPU). Sometimes, it even hits 100%. What should I do here? Do I have a systems issue?

Probably some services are running in background while they are not in use. Like Chrome, if the settings are not properly done, Chrome runs in background even it closed. Open msconfig, and uncheck/deselect the services that are not necessary at start up excluding Microsoft services. Also you can remove some tools/software that are no longer used or not used recent times.
