So, Windows 10 auto updated last night for some reason and now my local account is missing from the lock screen. I don't know why - it's freaking me out. How can I get my local account back?

Restart the system into the Safe Mode with Command prompt mode. Now login with your Administrator account or other account whatever is there. Type CMD in Start menu, right click on Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator. Next type as, netplwiz and press Enter key. A list of accounts shown, click your desired account name & click on the Properties button. Check out if it is under other group like HomeUsers group. If so, change it to Administrator group/ Standard User & click Apply then click OK. Again reboot & check if that helps you.

For this changes, Admin right is necessary.
