I've noticed that my Windows 20 laptop will not go into hibernate mode. When I went into the CMD to see which command is stopping this, I'm not seeing anything. When I try to go to hibernate mode, the screen goes black but then right back to the login screen. What should I do?

It is quite possible that some device driver issues may be preventing the laptop from going into the hibernation mode. It is better to update device drivers including update driver for your video card & check if it helps.

One more thing you can try, this is hopefully an easy way, open Power Options to get to that control panel. Now select the Balanced plan. Click Change plan settings. Now set the plugged in sleep time to 5 minutes & click Save Changes. For hibernate, click Change advanced power settings. On next click the + mark to the left of Sleep. Next click the + mark to the left of hibernate. Just change the plugged in: entry to X Minutes. (X means your desired time). Click OK & then close all opened dialog boxes. Here is a good link from HP official website, that can help you, https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/c03383935

Though this link is from HP, but it can applied almost all manufactures/ makes, while the base OS is Windows 10.
