Why does my Windows 10 laptop keep dropping my Wi-Fi connection? I have to go and disconnect / connect the router every single time and it's becoming a pain. And it always happens randomly. I could be online for 10 minutes or two hours. It doesn't matter. How can I stop this? The Wi-Fi on my mobile device is fine - never drops.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I also have that problem, but need to restart Win10 to get back on-line. Also most annoying is that if the WiFi in a new place has changed its key, Win10 seems incapable of simply asking for a new key but you have to go through the whole process of setting up a new connection from scratch and THEN it doesn’t connect to it until restart; utterly stupid and incompetent design. WiFi definitely deteriorated in Win 10.

I am also facing this issue on my laptop. In fact, using two laptops in two different environments. The one on Ubuntu OS works fine and consistent. But the other on Windows 10 misbehaves too frequently. I think this is an inherent issue with Windows 10 that has bot been checked thoroughly before its release. As a matter of fact, Windows 10 has another big issue with device drivers.

Have you updated Windows 10 recently/is it set as auto update? If yes. it is possible that, Wi-Fi/wireless adapter driver is not updated Or not compatible with Windows 10. In some cases, the Wi-Fi driver is missing after update. In this case, you have to reinstall the same.
