Windows 10 computer will not completely shut down

Whenever I try to shut down my computer, it never turns completely off. Here's what I'm seeing: The screen goes black but the fan keeps running. To shut it down altogether, I have to hold the power button for several seconds. That's every single time. I'm running Windows 10. Is this happening because of an update? If not, what should I look at?

Check the power settings, open power settings > advanced settings & make sure that the power buttons and lid/ power button action option is set to shut down. Or open a command prompt with admin rights & type as shutdown / s, then hit enter key. Or check either hibernate settings.
