So here's an odd question for everyone. I noticed that the sound/volume on my Windows 10 laptop will not play in any browsers. But it works everywhere else. All of my browsers are currently up to date. Not sure what's going on here - any tips/suggestions? Thanks so much.

Do you mean you can't adjust the volume or there is no sound at all? Does the same problem happen with headphone or external speakers or just the built in speaker? It does seem strange that only browsers are affected.

You are aware that almost all the browsers use Adobe Flash Player Plugin's for Audio Files. If the plugin is not in place or outdated in IE, Edge, and Firefox you may have issues with Audio Files. I am aware that Chrome is having issues with the new version of Flash, but I am not allowed to have Chrome on any of my systems.

Assuming videos play on the browsers but there is no sound. Focusing on Firefox, open Control Panel > Sound > Speakers > Properties > Advanced. Now uncheck 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device'. Next click Apply & OK and again click Apply & OK. Then unmute Firefox from Volume Mixer. What are you trying to play in your browser with sound and from what site? I know a few sites that have the audio for their videos set to mute or turned down by default. Kind of stupid to me if I click on a video on your site to watch a demo I do not want to have to click the mute to turn it back on for every video I watch.

One of those site is the Steam game site. Go to see reviews or video on a new game and they are always muted.
