I have a single PC, NO NETWORK, NIC disabled etc. I am on Dialup. I have nearly everything blocked in and out in windows firewall. Can I block the entries that are current open that say: Network Discovery (WSD EventsSecure-Out) + all the others titled Network Discovery? Thanks.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

My question shoul have asked if I could block all  the   Network Discover y     entries in the firewall and still have access to the internet.

I went ahead and blocked them all – both in and out, and can still connect to the web. Thanks for response.

It is not clear here. Is this shown on Taskbar notification area? If this shows on Taskbar notification area, then to disable this, you can try by using this command through CMD/ Command prompt:

    net config server /hidden:yes

Or you can write GPO to stop this. However more information is needed.
