Docking Stations
I am an IT professional but we purchased a laptop for an employee. We want to have two monitors for this laptop, but it only has 1 HDMI port, lacking VGA or DVI. It does however, have a USB type-C that does not support display (after contacting the manufacturer). Is it possible to purchase a dock that has the available ports - HDMI + VGA/DVI that would allow me to have 2 monitors?

Software/Hardware used:
laptop, usb-c

What make/ model of your laptop? What OS is there? However, most modern laptops will have HDMI/ DisplayPort/ mini-DisplayPort or USB Type-C. You can try this link, https://www.dell.com/support/article/in/en/indhs1/sln129825/how-to-setup-multiple-monitors?lang=en

What model laptop? You need to make sure the video card, either integrated or dedicated can support dual monitors to start with.

Without knowing anything about the laptop, we can't know if it even has any relationship to a dock.

When you say "two monitors", are you trying to work with three screens at once -- the laptop screen plus two external monitors, all showing different data? Or do you mean the laptop screen plus one external monitor to achieve 'two displays'? What software would you use to work with three screens?
