what URL are you referring to? It could be a number of things. Some sites may have inactivity timers to boot connections that sit idle too long. If you are in a work environment, check with your networking dept. If this is a personal computer you can always try and contact the site or their webmaster. Usually you can find links at the bottom of their page.
If the URL link is in an email it may be that it was sent and was only valid for a certain time. I have seen links that will say only valid for 24 hours, like a password reset. Without additional info we can only keep guessing as to the cause.
