It may be that site is doing something to your system. It does seem strange although easy to test. Go to a few sites like CNN, MLB, NFL, Yahoo, MSN then go to the adult site and see if it clears the history again. If so, I’d stay away from that site as it may be doing other things as well. Are you running any fire wall or antivirus currently ? Is it all browser history?

Is there any anti-virus installed? If the said website is virus effected/spreads virus to another system, then your anti virus may block this website and while the said website downloads/deposits virus or harmful elements on your system, then the anti virus might delete all history from your browser. Please don't surf such harmful websites, while it can steal your data and you may face a serious problem in future.

You did not say which browser you are using, but some of the browsers can be set so upon exit of the site or the browser, all history can be set to delete so it would delete your browsers history upon exit. The other comment also can apply and your AV / Antimalware detected a Virus / Malware in the history and it deleted it. Also if you are using a browser cleaning utility such as CCleaner. it can also be set so it will clear all history.

Today, almost all modern browsers have their own security mechanism apart from anti-virus etc. At least they can detect harmful websites and can block the operation on computer, laptop. For more safe, it is better to update always your anti-virus system.

One more thing, if you have suspected that your system already virus effected, and your installed anti virus does not meet the same (if any), then you can download and run an emergency anti virus (MWAV) which can scan/clean viruses without install. For better result, you can run this one in safe mode including all drives.
