Hi, do you have any tutorials on creating an actual tool? I am looking to create one for myself and any future organizations. I am familiar with .NET, VB, Visual Studio, JavaScript. Any help getting started will be fantastic.

If you are currently "familiar with .NET, VB, Visual Studio, JavaScript", then you should already know more than you need. There doesn't seem to be anything to add.

It might be possible to say more, but the question is too vague.

    What is "tool"?

The term is so general that there's nothing that can be said about it. You might create a "tool" that consists of nothing but a command-line command that displays the current session user name or that expands the window to full-screen. Or a "tool" might scour the internet to build a repository of all available upgrades for all software installed on the current machine, or even for all systems in the local LAN.

The range of things a "tool" might do is effectively unlimited. Define the problem you need us to help with.

What do you want your tool to do? Can you provide some specifics?
Are you looking to create some simple tools to aid you in your job? I have a few I created and just keep them in Visual Studios and run them when I need to. They are a combo .NET and HTML.

@ Raven, as far as a Tool, I have a set of "test Cases" I would like to automate. I think from previous experience the best route would be is to have a program that reads from a text or csv file, and automates that into the website for testing. and it would be even better if i can pool the test to run in queue or at all at once.

@todd, i think that answers your question as well ?
