I've been a software developer for the past several years (four to be exact) so I should be able to answer this question but I can't. My latest project involves having data only stored only a set of disks. The actual data is light-weight and the in-code with be in a class that only has a few string-based properties. My first thought was a simple and straight-forward serialisation (when assets are serialised and stored on the disk as a file). On the other side, I thought an XML file might be better for backup purposes. What do you think is the best way for my project? XML or serialisation?
