Backup
One of our administrators has been making a system which would automatically backup everything and forgets about it (as long as their no problems). He would only be notified when the system fails (AKA if the system is broken or unrestorable). He's trying to figure out a good way avoid these situations. Does anyone have a good idea? Thanks so much.

The first step would be to monitor the backup task, so if the task doesn't complete without errors every day, some people get an e-mail, SMS, or some other type of alert. This could be scripted or handled by a monitoring solution.

Then, you should test your backups regularly to make sure they not only exist, but actually work.
