I am an employer of a small business and have an IT department set up with 1 full time employee. I have done Masters in Information Technology which may not help now as it has been 10 to 12 years now. I am very much interested in networking of servers, win based computers etc. My question is, if I am based in Brisbane but main servers and the IT guy is located in my Melbourne branch, is it worth for me to study networking and can I look after the networks remotely or I have to be physically present in Melbourne to be able to supervise the networks?
