    It depends on how programming is structured in the job. For most programming that I've seen, there is no difference except that *CNTRLD takes a few seconds longer before ending (based in the delay time).

    But you can write programs to test the job status periodically. When ENDJOB *CNTRLD is detected, your programs have a chance to close files and do whatever cleanup should happen. Without such a test, your programs effectively just crash whether it's *IMMED or *CNTRLD.

    You can generally assume that server jobs will shut down gracefully if you end them *CNTRLD.
