I am starting a new job on Monday and my first most important task at hand is to organize and implement an efficient CRM. Could you please advise me which software is the best out there for a mid size corporation?

There is no "best". There are numerous choices, and some are likely to be better for you but not for others. For me, the SugarCRM Community Edition is more than enough; but that's mostly because it's free, it's open source and it's more than enough.

For you? You'll need to determine and list your requirements. Then give weights, or priorities, to them and compare them against the CRMs that are available. The one that matches best (for you) is potentially the "best" (for you).

One useful place to start is the Business_Software.com summary review of 40 CRM offerings. It merely lists features and basic costs, but it's useful as an introduction in a relatively small document.

Generally best means superior quality, it depends on your budget, company infrastructure and so on. Suppose, you choose the best product, but your pocket does not meet the expenses, so what shall you do!  you may go for the less renowned brand/ product, so it's totally depend on the budget/ estimations.

You should choose your CRM software according to your needs, your budget, add-one and plugins you require for your business. Feasibly you can check a CRM feature comparison tool to determine which features best suit you. There are many out there, however you should go according to your business needs.
