I am trying to prep someone for an interview, The manager is leading the clipper transition. How do I explain to someone what clipper is and how it relates to the job description below?
Required: field mapping and testing experience, understanding of technical documentation and basic SQL,
Nice to have: MS office, excel, access (access experience will allow them to query across all environments i.e. Clipper)
Sorry if it's too late and of hardly any use.
But in my opinion, being a Clipper developer for many years. Clipper is a general purpose programming language, but not a database management system. All DBF type programs lack of consistent RDBMS implementations, At most I would grade them in the lower part of such a category.
Regards
I agree Arvychile.
I worked with FoxPro in the past, and had the same impression. Some people called them 'file management systems', and not 'database management systems'.
And, btw, any comment is important for people that will look at this question in the future.
