What do I do with an old desktop?

My desktop computer is old and dead. What do I do with it? Do you take them back to use for parts?

You can use such common part of your old desktop like CD drive, HDD or RAM if support in your new System. Simply upgrade your current Old PC buy some new parts like RAM, processor and other things which are need to be changed

    It depends on how old "old" is and how dead "dead" is. You might use or sell some parts, you might replace failed parts (and possibly upgrade some others), or you might simply drop it off at whatever local recycling facility will take it.

    I often take my older systems that I can still make work and test various Linux distros on them. There are plenty of Linux variants, and it's hard to keep up.

    If it's really dead as well as old (more than 5 years), a recycle center is possibly the only good choice.

    Contact a hardware vendor who can assemble PC, ask him for exchange the good parts of your old computer and build a new pc for you. It may reduce cost while you buy branded new one.
