Web Based Training (WBT) is similar to Computer Based Training (CBT) in that it allows users to train on a subject at their own pace, often involving interaction. The difference is that web based training is directed over a network instead of a being located on a computer and can incorporate live feed and communication with an instructor and/or other students.
The factors that goes into developing/designing/programming a WBT are identical to that of any course. This begins with answering questions like: What is being taught? Who is the audience? What is the end goal of this training? What is the best way to communicate this information? etc. After answering those and creating a class targeting your specific audience, a WBT then allows the creator to choose how any possible interaction with others will benefit the learning process.
Good luck.
