One of my children accidentially opened up a suspicious link in Google Chrome and now it's beginning to download files automatically. I wasn't here when he opened it - could I possible view how the link was opened? Any help would be appreciated.

How that link is opened, that you can see through History. Or you can check browser's web log data. But first of all, if this is suspicious, check the system with antivirus.

I'm not sure what you are looking for. If he was in Chrome and clicked a link, that is how it was opened. What the link does or did is anyone's guess. It may have prompted for more actions after the initial click and it may have asked for permissions. You could look at the browsing history and see what site(s) he visited and what site may have contained the link.

There are some websites that are always redirecting another link immediately after clicking. If there are these types of link, clean the History and set the expiry date immediate after browser closing.
