My Sony camera imports my videos twice, one in .MP4 and in .MTS. This is very kind of Sony but all it does is make my media management that much more tedious. I don't know sh*t about video formats. I perused the web a little but I'm still at a loss. My question is which do I keep. I'm on vacation so all I have is my Macbook and camera, no external drive. I'd like to keep both and worry about it later, but I don't have enough space. (I know ACVHD is bigger but that's not a main concern).
I don't plan to do crazy editing, just some splicing and trimming, but quality is important to me. To my eyes and what I've read .MTS is better. But should I just stick with .MP4 and make my life easier? How notable is the quality difference? Thank you!
