Use rsync to backup recently changed files

Would anyone happen to know if it's possible to specify a time range so that rsync only does work on recently changed files? My friend and I are currently working on a script to backup our recently added files over SSH and we thought rsync would work best for this. But here's the problem: The source directories contain a huge backlog of older files (and we don't want to back those up). Any idea on what we should do here?

Well, a little outdated, but probably your only option is --exclude-from.

    generate an exclude file by

    ls -t > exclude.list

then remove the new files you wish to backup, and go on with something like

    rsync -av --exclude-from exclude.list localdir/ remote.host:remotedir/

    Cheers,

    P.
