Usually a hardware issue like a damaged USB port in a computer is something that has to be replaced. If it’s on a separate card, no big deal to replace. If it’s built into the motherboard like most are, this is not something that the average home user can do. It might be best to get a quote from a profession PC tech to replace.

If the USB port that is damaged is on a separate card then there is no problem to replace the card. If the USB Port is attached via a plug to the system board then you can order and replace the USB port. If it is hardwired to the system board then the systemboard will have to be replaced. Since the original question did not say how it attached to the systemboard this is very critical. Two of the ways to replace are easy to do and one requires more work and should done via a qualified tech.
