I have all of my Masters' Degree work on a USB flash drive. But when I tried to open it today, it says the drive has been renamed and the folders inside of it have several bizarre characters. When I try to open a file, I'm getting this message: The specified path does not exist. Check the path and then try again. What should I do? All of my work is on this

If you have been using this USB drive on multiple computers it may have become infected with a virus / ransomware. A USB drive may not always be recognized as the same drive letter as well. Any embedded links and shortcuts referencing that access path will not work on another computer if it recognizes it as a different drive letter. They would have to be fixed manually.
