BTW. URL 1 - Information only, no actual links URL 2 - Been there, looking for the actual service packs. URL 3 - Those are links to updates for SE, which is where I need to get to. No help.

Although not a major upgrade, Windows 98SE was an upgraded operating system. There was no service pack to get from one to the other. Microsoft did offer 2 upgrade paths with one requiring an already installed version of Windows 98 (and was cheaper than the standard upgrade version). Neither one of those were free service pack updates.

Go go ebay and buy a new copy of Win98SE and just do the install. It won't harm your existing OS and configurations. Bob

There was an OEM upgrade disk that was distributed to vendors, but not released to the general public, I bought a copy of it through Save at Eagle about 2 1/2 years ago real cheap. I think it was about 15$ with shipping. It uses your existing 98 Key and can only be run after 98 is installed. I have no idea if it is still available. It basically runs through the whole windows install process so if you are installing on a formatted drive you are going to install windows twice once with your old cd once with the new. It's labeled Windows 98 Second Edition Updates.
