I'm working as a system engineer. One my production server have a strange issue. We restarted the server for maintenance activity, after that we are not able to connect the server through RDP. Anyhow we are able to connect through Hyper-V console and able to ping the server name & IP address as well. FYI.. Firewall has been disabled, all the services are running fine. Tried to restart the services as well, but no luck. I'm able to Telnet port 3389. Tried to RDP the server with name & address as well. result is same "Internal Error occurred" Any suggestions please. Thanks in advance.

Make sure that, somehow the network driver is corrupted/necessary to update. Also make sure the anti virus is not a cause for the same. Have you applied any rule recently, check server manager thoroughly. Moreover, check user permissions/rights and even login/password also.

    Dear Sir,
I have windows server 2012 R2, I am facing the problem.
    a) RDP is unable to access
    b) Unable to ping the server

My problem is solved by unplugging and plugging the network cable just.
I want to know why its happening?
What's a solution to solve it?

We may need to check for RDP settings, FIPS disable or TLS settings.

@Ramesh251, What environment is there? How many clients are there ? Is this a single server? What Windows Server it is like Windows Server 2012/ 2016 or what?

    Please provide more details.

With "Internal Error occurred" evident, the only practical direction is first to fix the error. That will likely require MS Support.

Moreover some kind of authentication error or group policy related problem might be occurred. Check if there is an update running before this issue.
