Unable to access web access mail account

Microsoft Exchange
Hi, I've created a new lotus notes web access mail account on Domino R 6.5.2. However, after i log into the account, the page displayed show 'http 404 File not found or unable to read file' or 'The page cannot be found'. The URL 'http://webmail.xxx.xxx.xx/.nsf/' does not reflect the mailfile. I've tried to delete and re-create a new account by doesn't help. Kindly advise as i need to have this account available asap. Appreciate all the help that i can get.

When you go to

what do you get? Do you get to a login box?

If so, if you type in the user’s name and password… are you validated and taken to the user’s mail file?

Don't know alot about Lotus notes but I do know alot about troubleshooting mail server connectivity. You may want to reconfigure your settings, just to make sure you haven't accidently put the wrong info in somewhere. To test connectivity you may want to start by telnetting to the mail servers. Open up start, go to run and type in telnet mail.'server name'.com 25. The 25 is port 25 that's the port your outgoing server will use unless it's set to use ssl. Do the same for your incoming port#, which is 110. I can't remember if you said this was only in webmail or not. If so, can you access it from another pc. That will tell you if the problem is in the server or the pc. Hope this helps

I'm not sure what experience you have in administering Domino so forgive me if this is teaching you to suck eggs. Ensure that the HTTP service is running on the Domino Server and you must make sure that a password has been entered in the Internet password field in the Person Document for the user. I found that if I went directly to the mail file using a URL similar to the following http://servername/mail/filename.nsf it worked all of the time. The login name is usually the Firstname Surname. You may also want to make sure that you have your Connection LAN settings correct in the browser options especially if you have to use a proxy. You'll probably also need to have Java enabled so you can see the buttons and menu options.

Hi,. Meanwhile checking for other setting., pls do check the ACL of the database also. I doubt there is some problem in the access control list of that mail box for that user. Awaiting your reply. Reg kochubaby Mail: unni.sudevan@wipro.com
