Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

From your words, I think that what you want is to configure a feature commonly called Outlook Anywhere.

This feature allows any internet connected outlook to sync a user account with an Exchange Server directly without need a prior VPN connection.

You did not give many details, but for this to work, there are several steps to take into consideration. Not only to securely “publish” this service but also in terms of the overall environment configuration.

If all the this service is already configured on your network and you just want to know how to configure your Outlook, please take a look at this article.

If you want more than this, please give us more details.

Outlook anywhere is configured. Mails can be accessed without VPN. However when using Outlook without VPN I am unable to see calendar information (available dates/times)of other employees.

Hi, A user can easily access outlook without connecting VPN or LAN, you only need to follow the steps, as this requires using Microsoft Exchange server 2003 or 2007 accounts. On LAN (Local Area network) environment, MS Outlook communicates with Exchange by using RPC (remote procedure call) with TCP/IP (transmission control protocol /internet protocol. Through this feature user get quick and  efficient access in corporate organizations. VPN (virtual private network) provides you with a connection within an organization's network and within its firewall so users need not worry that how to get remote connections without a VPN within an organization because Outlook offers Outlook Anywhere. Outlook can connect to Exchange through the Internet by using remote procedure call (RPC) over HTTP. The Outlook Anywhere feature allows you to access your Exchange account remotely from the Internet when you are working outside your organization's firewall.

    System requirements

Your computer must have Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or a later service pack.

Your account be hosted on Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003.

Your Exchange administrator must configure the server to permit connections via HTTP.

    Thanks & Regards
