As per my knowledge, there are three types of cloud storage solutions:
And OpenStack provides two of it as a service:
Cinder - block storage
Swift - object storage
But, Cinder services are provided to the user as a part of nova (compute service) and Swift services are provided to the user independently
similarly, Amazon provides two of it as a service:
EBS - block storage
S3 - object storage
But, EBS services are provided to the user as a part of EC2 (compute service) and S3 services are provided to the user independently
so, my question is:
Is block storage not provided as an independent storage as a service? When we talk about only independent storage as a service in cloud, what are the different types of storage provided by the cloud as a service?
