This is an evolving challenge that largely depends on the equipment, use case, etc. I’m seeing IoT vendors and clients utilize the cloud for such storage. NAS, etc. on the internal network could work as well. Again, it just depends.

    It depends on what is wanted to be stored, from how many devices and for how long. If anything at all is stored, storage demands will rise.

    A lot of unknown variables. Some data retention may be mandated by laws to be kept x# of years. In other cases it can be throw away data. It's hard to provide a good response unless we have some hard facts about project and the intended use of cloud storage.

    As for technical view, the impact of IoT on data center demand means that, the company can no longer work on just keeping the lights on. In that case, it must become proactive instead of reactive. If the data center currently leaves only a small portion of budget, bandwidth/equipment to take on advanced functionality.
