Trouble Setting Up VOIP Using Switch/Hub

Our company switched to VOIP phones in May. Having issues setting up a new user location that is utilizing a switch for internet connection in that I'm not getting the phone to connect. I lose all internet connection to both the PC and the phone (daisy-chain setup).  (Tried two switches [Netgear FS108 and an old 3com unit currently powering that section of the office], using an AC adaptor for power to phone [in addition to internet hookup which powers the rest of the company phones])  What am I doing wrong? TIA

Software/Hardware used:
Mitel 6920 VOIP phone, Netgear FS108 switch, 3com switch

So, forgetting about the phones for a moment, does that location have a working internet connection right now, using that switch?

Of, in other words, if instead of a phone, you connect some other device, like a PC, to that switch, do you get access to the network?

Yes,  I have verified internet to this location (the PC at this station is connecting just fine via the hub)

So, right you use a hub, but now you will use a switch.  Is that right?

I'm not sure I got the answer to my second question.  Using the switch, can you connect a PC to the internet?

How many PCs are there ? Is the all PC can ping each other? Or if that any rule (firewall) that defined erstwhile can be a problem of that issue. However you mentioned this is new setup. Though please do check.
