Thanks for the help...I've installed mailstore and archived PST file from Microsoft Outlook but this procedure is taking more than an hour now. Is this a normal process? It looks promising but it's still in the process.

I've done all you've said and imported the PST file to Windows live mail. It says it has "completed importing into windows mail format", but I can't seem to find it in Windows live mail...any reason why? Did I do it wrong? Update ASAP please.

Did you follow the following criteria.... 1. Outlook must be installed when you do the job 2. Individual messages from Outlook never drag and drop into Windows Mail Remember, Outlook contacts will need to be exported as a Comma Separated Values text file for import into Windows Contacts. And be careful about the point no 5. If possible repeat the same steps again with carefully. I did it earlier and it worked!

Thanks Rechill for your help. I guess I took it the long way instead....I imported the PST file to Outlook Express from another computer and imported using the Windows Livemail on Windows 7 but then I still had trouble with contacts. So I imported my PST contact to MS Outlook on Windows 7 and sucked out the contact using Windows live mail from MS Outlook 2007...now I got all of them we wanted. Your help could have worked for me if i had done it correctly. I would have approved that your solution could have worked.

The response I have received does not address the question I had.  My question was "is there a way of transferring my Microsoft Live email to my desk top so it can be stored/disk made?

Perhaps you wanted to transfer one computer to another computer. This may work, create a temporary folder on the desktop to contain the messages to be transferred. Now under this main folder, create more folders corresponding to each folder whose contents you want to transfer. Next arrange the both systems that so you can see both Windows Live Mail & the desktop folder. Select a message in a Windows Live Mail message list, then drag them across and drop them on the corresponding folder in the desktop folder. You can do it over the network or using a flash drive.

Generally Outlook PST file cannot be directly imported into Windows Live Mail. It is needed to convert PST file to a supported format in Windows Live Mail & then import the converted file.

There are several third party tools, but make sure (before purchasing) if any one works with full satisfaction.
