Microsoft SQL Server was running fine until it recently stopped running for no real apparent reason. It's saying: The Index Allocation Map Page is Pointed to by the Next Pointer of IAM Page. Anyone have had similar issue? Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi
since your database backup is very old, I hope you ran the dbcc checkdb on the affected database and thats the error it is pointing out-
according to the error- from the help link,it says
1.Identify in the evntlogs to see are there any issues with h/w ,so this need to be fix at the first place.
2.If not it is recommend to restore from the known good backup then run checkdb – this will not work in your case.

Do you have complex foreign keys and constraints in sql server. It seems that, the IAM page no longer looks like an IAM page and got corrupted. Better try to repair the same, but before of that, you can take backup.
