The file .ost cannot be accessed because it has been configured for use with a different mailbox

I am trying to import an ost file. However, I'm getting this error. How can I fix this. I do not have the same username any longer. I found something on here but it really didn't help me. I am not too familiar with how exchange servers work. It is in Outlook 2007 format. My main goal is actually just to backup all of the events that are listed on the Calendar. The file <filename>.ost cannot be accessed because it has been configured for use with a different mailbox.

Outlook 2007, Win7

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.
ost files are cached Exchange files. By default, they are stored in the C:\Windows\Users\userid profile folder.

How are you trying to access the file? Are you using the same computer you used with the old account?

If so, login with that old username (should be a cached login). Open Outlook and export into pst format whatever you want from the mailbox.

If all else fails, ask your Exchange Administrator to export the information from your “Old” Exchange mailbox.
