Opening Lotus Notes: The database was not found, please select servers to search

Tags:
Lotus Notes 8.5.3
When the client opens Lotus Notes, a box pops up saying "The database was not found, please select servers to search." Local & 5 servers are all highlighted. After choosing either the correct server, a second pop up appears saying "File "User ID".nsf does not exist." "User ID".nsf is not in his Appdata folder nor on his network mapped drive, only "User ID".id

I would delete everything but the first 3 lines of notes.ini and restart Notes. That will force the client to reconfigure itself. HTH. Good luck.

    Hello Stiletto,

Yes, I rebuilt his Notes.ini file but thanks for the suggestion.

    This one is a puzzler!?.

Delete cache.ndk.  Rename desktop*.* to olddesktop*.*.  Copy his names.nsf to something like oldnames.nsf and try again?
