Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

These are a few of the possibilities

Message Sev Text
CPPA554 0 Critical logic overtemperature
CPPA581 0 MCM running over temperature
CPPA582 0 Airflow loss in MCM subsystem resulting in over-temperature
CPPA584 0 Processor over-temperature detected
CPPA888 0 Ambient room temperature limit exceeded
CPPC00E 70 Operating voltage or temperature range limits exceede . . .
CPPEA60 99 *Attention* Optimal environmental temperature exceeded.
CPPEA61 40 Optimal environmental temperature restored.
CPPEA62 99 *Attention* Processor temperature exceeded.
CPPEA63 40 Processor temperature no longer exceeded.
CPP0554 70 Critical logic overtemperature
CPP0581 70 MCM running over temperature
CPP0582 70 Airflow loss in MCM subsystem resulting in over-temperature
CPP0584 70 Processor over-temperature detected
CPP0888 70 Ambient room temperature limit exceeded

Is there a specific reason or concern for the request? With a well designed data center you should not have overheating issues.

Essentially the data centre ran out of building-supplied enhanced cooling (we were OK for power). Like most smaller companies, there is no dedicated operator, and the problem was only discovered when someone went into the room to change the nightly backup tape. We are now monitoring the message queues for the Ambient temperature Exceed messages so that we can shut the machine down semi-gracefully if the temp goes too high.

Do you happen to know which specific message queue the CPPA888 and the CPP0888 messages will appear in? Is it the QSYSOPR or the QSYSMCH message queue?

I believe they go to QSYSOPR. With the service tools I believe can can have a message sent to a device when a specific message happens that you monitor for.

I need to be certain that I am monitoring the correct queue so that I indeed DO trap the event when it occurs. It would be a major disaster if I were to monitor the wrong queue and the CPPA888 and/or CPP0888 messages got by the monitoring software. I will probably raise a PMR with the Itty Bitty Machine company to verify which message queue, with certainty. Thanks for your help.
