what to learn NetWeaver EP or XI ?

Hi , I am Narendra Mohan working in java/j2ee from last 2 years . I have a good knowledge on SAP-ABAP too. now i want to change the platform to SAP-NetWeaver. which module should i learn either EP or XI ? i came to know that there is big demand for XI rather than EP in longrun. please give advices....
